What is AHEPA?

The Order of AHEPA (American Hellenic Educational and Progressive Association) is an international organization founded in 1922 in Atlanta, Georgia. Although originally founded to help the newly arriving Greek immigrants learn English and assimilate into the overall community, it has since expanded its mission. AHEPA, along with it's women's affiliate organization, the Daughters of Penelope, contributes their efforts and financial resources to many worthwhile causes including education, housing for the elderly, medical research, disaster relief, and the care of orphaned and underprivileged children.

What Is the Scholarship Fund Mission?

The mission of the AHEPA Mother Lodge Chapter No. 1 Educational Fund, Inc. is to provide both scholastic achievement and financial need scholarships to students pursuing post high school education. In addition, the Fund strives to strengthen community and country by promoting education through the development and implementation of various comprehensive programs.

An independent, tax-exempt nonprofit 501(c)(3) public-charity corporation established in Atlanta, Georgia in 1986 to promote, encourage and advance education at the college, university, and graduate and professional school levels. The Fund serves the Cultural and Educational Programs of AHEPA Chapter No. 1, DOP Chapter 53 & AHEPA Chapter 519.

What is Hellenism?

Originating from Έλλην (Éllēn, “a Greek”)

The emulation of ancient Greek culture, civilization, principles and ideals, including humanism, reason, the pursuit of knowledge, the arts, moderation and civic responsibility.
